Just a different way of doing things, putting the skills on the weapons rather than the character themselves. The only thing is that the weapons have their own powers/skills rather than you having a huge skilltree, if that makes sense. There's no weapons that take up both slots so far. So far I haven't seen any stances/options for 1 or 2 handling the same weapon, you have two weapon slots and you can put a weapon in each and you switch between either of these with a button click.

The combat is very responsive but it isn't like the Souls games where one enemy can kill you super quick, it's still very 'action rpg' it's just that with with some of the enemy movesets it requires you to dodgy/move out of the way quickly rather than killing you outright with a few moves. I wouldn't say it's anything like Souls/Bloodborne at all tbh. But lots of the commentary has focused on the responsiveness of the combat controls, options for 2-handing or 1-handing weapons, and stuff, which made me think Souls clone. It does look more Diablo in that video you posted, I have to admit. Is this a Souls/ Bloodborne rip off? It seems that way from the little I've seen about it (and the tagline "Calling all Hunters" on Steam kind of adds to that.)

Should give you an idea of how it plays anyway They are also looking to add in local coop in a future patch as well. Just recorded via shadowplay I had to stitch the parts together before upload to youtube and even though I had VSync off it seems more prominent in the video than when I was actually playing it. I've included a 50min video below but I'm not super happy with it. Storywise it's pretty bleh though having Geralt as the voice of the main character is entertaining in itself. From that price range I'm liking it more than the Van Helsing games or the Torchlight games. Weaponwise so far I've found shotguns, swords, hammers, scythes and lightning guns.įor the £15 or so I paid it's a very entertaining purchase. You of course get loot and get money, weapons etc though it doesn't seem to focus on these thing as much. To kill some enemies you need to use 'Overkill' which from what I can tell is one of your more powerful moves, otherwise the enemies get up and you have to slice them again (though they die the second time). You also have camera control with the right stick. With your demon powers on the left/right triggers, dodge and weapon change on the bumper buttons and the face buttons being for your attacks. With controller it feels really great to play and is how i'm playing it. With m/kb you have two options, movement with WASD or click controls like Diablo. It works really well with both m/kb and control pad. The big thing with this game in particular is how excellent it is with a controller. You also have a jump button and camera control. You can have two weapons which you switch between at anytime (with their own movesets) and you have two demon powers which you can use as well (though you unlock the second one eventually, don't have it right from the off). In many ways it feels different from a lot of action rpgs in that it focus' a lot more on the action and a lot of its combat involves dodging/rolling to avoid enemy attacks etc. So far, about 3 - 4 hours in, it's been extremely entertaining getting better as it goes along.

So I picked this up a while ago on early access and this week it went into full release.
